Peter Hicks
Peter is a countertenor and conductor based in Guildford. His love of choral music stems from his years as a chorister at St. John's College, Cambridge. After reading Music at Durham University, where he also sang as a choral scholar at Durham Cathedral, Peter studied at the University of York for a Masters in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing, under Robert Hollingworth, graduating in 2023 with distinction.
As you may have read in the press, Peter has recently been appointed First Countertenor of the King's Singers! He will take up his new post later this year and we have started the process to find his replacement (see https://www.chantrysingers-guildford.org.uk/newmd). Our time with Peter has been very enjoyable and successful and we wish him well in his new role.
